The lab includes five main parts:

1. Networks.
2. IP services.
3. Enablers from the research projects.
4. Various tools from companies
5. External connections to Octopus MVNO services, panOulu public WLAN, Geant, and Funet.

Radio access equipment includes a Nokia Metrosite 3G WCDMA/HSDPA base station, WiMAX 802.16d (802.16-2004) base station, two MobileWiMAX 802.16e basestations, wireless access controller and customer premises equipment, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g and 802.11n base stations.

Network tools includes NetHawk 3G RNC/Iub simulator, NetHawk M5 network analyzer, Comprion test U-SIM cards and editor.

The terminals include PDAs, WiMAX CPEs and a selection of 3G and HSDPA mobile phones from Nokia, Ericsson, Samsung, LG and Microsoft.

The service systems include Plenware VOIP gateway, G-Cluster and Maxisat IPTV/Gaming system, DVB to mobile phone streaming system, DBV-C MHP transmitter and receiver.

Native IPv6 connectivity.
